Local Legends.org may use cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to collect information about your use of the Site.  Some of these technologies capture your IP address, browser data and other information about your activity on our Site.  Cookies enable Local Legends.org to keep track of your movement from page to page so you do not get asked for the same information you have already provided us.  Cookies allow you to proceed through many pages of a site quickly and easily without having to authenticate or reprocess each new area you visit.

At this time, Local Legends.org does not recognize or respond to a browser’s “do not track” signals or other such mechanisms.

3. Uses of Information Collected.

Local Legends.org uses Contact Data only to contact you, when necessary, which may include sending you periodic emails regarding your order or other products or services. 4. Third Party Collection of Personally Identifiable Information.

Local Legends.org approve third parties to collect Online Tracking information from the Site.  For example, Google or other advertisement providers may use Online Tracking, including to determine whether, when and for how long you view advertisements.

5. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Policy (“COPPA”).

Children can, in some cases, register with our Site to view content and participate in voting for awards. During the registration process, we may ask the child to provide certain information for notification and security purposes, including a parent or guardian’s email address, the child’s first name and gender, the child’s member or account username, and password. We also may ask for birth dates from children to validate their ages. We strongly advise minor children never to provide any personal information in their usernames. Please note that children can choose whether to share their information with us, but certain features cannot function without it. As a result, minor children may not be able to access certain features if required information has not been provided. Local Legends.org will not require a child to provide more information than is reasonably necessary in order to participate in an online activity.

Consistent with the requirements of COPPA, in any instance where Local Legends.org  asks for age and determine the user is age 13 or under, we will ask for a parent or guardian email address before Local Legends.org collect any personal information from the child. If you believe your child is participating in an activity that collects personal information and you or another parent/guardian have NOT received an email providing notice or seeking your consent, please feel free to contact us at privacycontact@locallegends.org. Local Legends.org will not use parent emails provided for parental consent purposes to market to the parent, unless the parent has expressly opted in to email marketing or has separately participated in an activity that allows for such email contact.

Certain activities on the Site allow children to create content and save it within the Site. Some of these activities do not require children to provide any personal information and therefore may not result in notice to the parent or require parental consent. If an activity potentially allows a child to insert personal information in their created content, Local Legends.org will either pre-screen the submission to delete any personal information, or Local Legends.org will seek verifiable parental consent by email for the collection. Examples of created content that may include personal information are open-text fields relating to award nominations, and uploading of photographs that may contain identifiable information.

Email Consent. In the event Local Legends.org wishes to collect personal information from a child, COPPA requires that Local Legends.org first seek a parent or guardian’s consent by email. In the email Local Legends.org will explain what information we are collecting, how we plan to use it, how the parent can provide consent, and how the parent can revoke consent. If we do not receive parental consent within a reasonable time, Local Legends.org will delete the parent contact information and any other information collected from the child in connection with that activity.

High-Level Consent. In the event Local Legends.org collects personal information from a child that will be posted publicly, we will seek a higher level of consent than email consent. Such “high-level” methods of consent include but are not limited to asking for a credit card or other payment method for verification (with a nominal charge involved), speaking to a trained customer service representative by telephone or video chat, or requiring a signed consent form by mail, email attachment, or fax. After providing high-level consent, a parent may have the opportunity to use a pin or password in future communications as a way to confirm the parent’s identity.

6. Confidentiality and Security of Personal Information.

Except as otherwise provided in the Terms of Use or this Privacy Policy, Local Legends.org will keep your Contact Data and Financial Data private and will not share it with third parties, unless you choose to post it in a public forum on the Site or unless such disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with a court order or other legal process; (b) protect our rights or property; (c) facilitate further development of the Site; or (d) enforce our Terms of Use.  Your personal information is stored on secure servers that are not accessible by third parties.

7. Secured Socket Layers.

Secure Sockets Layer, or SSL, is an encryption technology that provides secure communications over the Internet. It does this by verifying that the server to which you are connected is actually the one it claims to be. It also encrypts all transactions between the parties communicating. Encryption is the scrambling of information as it is transmitted over the Internet to protect your confidentiality. Personal and credit card information passing between your computer and/or mobile device and many of our services is encrypted. This means that while your information is in transit it is scrambled so that only we can reassemble it in its original text format.  We use SSL protocol when secure communication with you is necessary

8. Lost or Stolen Information.

You must promptly notify Local Legends.org if your user’s name or password is lost, stolen or used without permission.  In such an event, we will cancel that account and assign you a new user name and password and update our records accordingly.

9. Other Limits to Your Privacy.

The Site may contain links to other websites and may approve other websites to obtain Online Tracking information from the Site.  Local Legends.org is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.  When you post on the Site, the information that you disclose becomes public information. We have no control over its use and you should exercise extreme caution when deciding to disclose any of your personal information.

10. CAN-SPAM Act.

The CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.

If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, you can email us at Information@LocalLegends.org and we will promptly as soon as practical considering our active daily operations, remove you from ALL correspondence.

11. Updates and Changes to Privacy Policy.

Local Legends.org reserves the right, at any time and without notice, to add to, change, update or modify this Privacy Policy, by posting such change, update or modification on the Site.  If you have an account with us, Local Legends.org we will notify you of any material change in our privacy policy.  Any such change, update or modification will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site.
